Akbar the Great (1556 - 1605), Jesus (0 - 33), Mahatma Gandhi (1869 – 1948) and Martin Luther King, Jr. (1929 – 1968) are among many persons who achieved or at least aspired to be self-actualized. You may also notice that they are listed under Philosophy, not Religion even though they were religious or had a deep interest in religion. There are undoubtedly many others who would qualify to be listed in this esteemed list of over-achievers. However, I have chosen to identify three well known individuals and one nearly unknown person to make my points.
