There is a passage from Isaiah 64:6 I think that addresses this issue. Why would I quote scripture here since it is obvious to anyone that I do not believe in any god? The answer lies in my own philosophy to examine all viewpoints and take from them that which I find useful and meaningful to me. Actually, everyone does that. Most would not agree to that last statement but if they are capable of examining their own thoughts honestly and dispassionately, they might see the truth of it.

I do accept the principal of righteousness. However I see all "declared" righteousness as being "Self-righteousness". True righteousness would be invisible and never declared or "preached" to one another. There is wisdom to be had from the "Bible" if you look closely at the intent of the writer.
